Process

My paintings often begin with a mood or a feeling rather than a precise plan.

I work intuitively, allowing the image to develop through multiple layers. Sometimes the most important elements emerge late in the process. A colour, a cloud formation, or a particular quality of light can suddenly change the direction of an entire painting.

I am especially interested in the way light can transform a landscape. For this reason, the sky often plays a central role in my work. The bold colours that occasionally appear — especially pink and rose tones — are not intended as realistic descriptions. Instead, they function as subtle shifts of reality, opening the landscape toward something more poetic and dreamlike.

I work primarily with acrylic on canvas, building my paintings through broad, expressive brushstrokes. I strive to preserve a sense of immediacy, allowing the creative process to remain visible within the finished work.

Light and atmosphere

Light plays a central role in my work. I am fascinated by the way a change in weather, a cloud formation, or a brief shift in the sky can completely transform the character of a landscape.

Intuition and Process

My paintings rarely begin with a fixed destination in mind. Instead, they develop gradually through layers of colour, texture, and observation.
